SACRAMENTO, CA – Today Senator Ling Ling Chang (R-Diamond Bar) recognized JJANG Restaurant/Orange as the 2019 February Small Business of the Month for the 29th Senate District. The recognition ceremony held at JJANG Restaurant/Orange included Senator Chang, President of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce Ho-El Park, President/CEO of the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce Theresa Harvey, Buena Park Mayor Art Brown, and honoree and owners Yeonjin Lee and Eunju Lee.
“Mr. Lee has built his business from the ground up and I’m proud to recognize JJANG Restaurant/Orange as the 29th District’s Small Business of the Month,” said Senator Chang. “It’s important for us to take the time to celebrate hardworking businesses that make a positive impact in the community – they are the backbone of our economy.”
In 2011, Lee started serving quality Korean dishes with fresh ingredients. His goal was to bring the community together and help people explore Korean culture through food and sports. His large venue continues to serve as a gathering place for local nonprofit organizations.
“We appreciate Senator Chang for choosing us for this award and are thankful for our wonderful customers in Buena Park, Fullerton, and the surrounding areas,” said Yeonjin Lee. “Our customers rave about our fried dishes and we pride ourselves on being the go-to spot for groups and sports fans looking for a lively atmosphere. We look forward to continue serving the community with great food, fun, and drinks!”
“Congratulations to JJANG Restaurant/Orange for winning this award and thank you for being a great role model for Korean businesses and the City of Buena Park,” said Ho-El Park, President of Korean American Chamber of Commerce Orange County. “Not only do they serve great food, but they also serve the community by hosting charity events. We hope that more businesses in the area will be recognized for their diligence, hard work, and service to the community.”
Each month, Senator Chang honors businesses throughout the 29th District for their contribution to the state’s economy and local community. There are approximately 3.9 million small businesses in California, which account for 99.8 percent of the state’s employers and employ nearly 49 percent of the state’s workforce.
